Wawrzynek ('09) honored with Young Lawyer of the Year Award

Angelica W. Wawrzynek ('09), an associate attorney at Tapella & Eberspacher LLC in Mattoon, received the Young Lawyer of the Year Award from the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).
Wawrzynek, who focuses her practice in federal tort claims, personal injury and medical malpractice, was elected this year to the ISBA Board of Governors as a downstate Under Age 37 member. She is a member of the ISBA’s Young Lawyers Division, and the awards subcommittee chair of the ISBA’s Task Force for Lawyers Feeding Illinois. Lawyers Feeding Illinois, held February 18 – March 1, 2013, was a statewide food and fundraising campaign that raised more than 3.7 million meals.
Also active in her community, she is secretary-treasurer of the Coles-Cumberland Bar Association and a member of its Pro Bono Committee. She serves on the East Central Illinois Women Attorneys Association, and maintains membership with both the American Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
She received her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2009 and her B.S. from the University of Illinois in 2006.
