Debra Walker, ’87, Elected Vice President of Illinois Bar Foundation

Cook County Circuit Court and College of Law Alumna Judge Debra B. Walker has been elected vice president of the Illinois Bar Foundation (IBF), the charitable affiliate of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).
The mission of the Illinois Bar Foundation is to ensure meaningful access to the justice system, especially for those with limited means, and to assist lawyers who can no longer support themselves due to incapacity.
Judge Walker, who will serve a two-year term, has been active on the IBF board since 2000. An active member of the ISBA, Judge Walker is a member of its Bench & Bar Section Council. She also serves on the Illinois Supreme Court’s Commission on Professionalism and is a past president of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois.
Prior to being elected to the bench, Judge Walker was a partner at the Chicago law firm Clausen Miller PC, where she concentrated on defending professional liability matters.
Walker received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1987.
