. Midterm Self-Evaluation .
Please complete the following Midterm Self-Evaluation by preparing a narrative for each of the skills. In the narrative, explain what experiences and opportunities, if any, you have had to develop each skill and what you think your strengths and weaknesses are. In the event that you have not had an experience with a particular skill, please describe a situation where you have observed that skill being utilized and the strengths and weaknesses that you observed. If there have not been any observable examples of any one of these skills, then please identify another skill and fully address that skill. You may refer to the list of sample supplemental skills for ideas. The skills are from an ABA Publication entitled Legal Education and Professional Development – an Educational Continuum.
Please submit your Midterm electronically in Word or WordPerfect format to law-extern@illinois.edu. (We do not accept PDF’s.)

e) Your name in a HEADER at the top of every page

Basic Format for writing about the 12 skills:
1) Write first the Skill # and then the title of that Skill (Example: Skill § 1: Problem Solving). Do not include the description that follows the skill number and title. That information is there only to assist you.
2) Write about that Skill
3) Continue this pattern until you have reached a total of 12 skills
N O T E : It is a requirement that you identify and write about 12 skills.
Please be sure you do NOT combine skills.
You should list and write about 12 total skills SEPARATELY.

Client’s Decision.
Skill § 7: Negotiation: Preparing for Negotiation and Conducting a Negotiation Session.
Skill § 8: Organization and Management of Legal Work: Implementing Systems and Procedures to
Ensure that Time, Effort, and Resources Are Allocated Efficiently; Implementing Systems and
Procedures to Ensure that Work is Performed and Completed at the Appropriate Time; and
Implementing Systems and Procedures for Effectively Working with Other People.
