Convocation

Krannert Center and College of Law

The 2013 College of Law Convocation will be held in the Great Hall at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on May 11 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The College of Law will host an open house on May 10 and a reception on May 11 following the ceremony.

Parking is available in the Krannert Center garage, in metered spaces on nearby streets, and in permit lots (with the exception of 24-hour rental spaces) during commencement weekend. Please be sure to allow enough time to find parking since there are multiple convocation ceremonies on Saturday.

Open House

Graduates, family members, faculty, and honored guests are invited for an open house in the Peer and Sarah Pedersen Pavilion at the College of Law, 504 East Pennsylvania Avenue in Champaign on Friday, May 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. No tickets are required, and the College of Law Bookstore will be open during this time for browsing and last minute gifts.

Reception

Graduates, family, friends, and honored guests are invited to join the College of Law on Saturday, May 11 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Peer and Sarah Pedersen Pavilion for a reception in honor of the Class of 2013. Please join us for this opportunity to celebrate and connect with faculty, family, and friends following the convocation ceremony. No tickets are required, and light refreshments will be served.

University-wide Commencement

Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Assembly Hall

Graduates may choose to participate in a commencement ceremony with graduate and undergraduate students from various colleges throughout the university. More information about this ceremony, including ticketing and special accommodation for accessibility is available here.

Tickets

Tickets will be required for the Class of 2013 Convocation ceremony.

Tickets may be picked up on May 11 prior to the Convocation ceremony at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts Ticket Office, located in the main lobby. Rest assured, more than enough tickets will be available to accommodate graduates and their guests

Convocation Announcements

Personalized convocation announcements may be purchased through the Illini Union Bookstore or online through Herff Jones. For more information on announcements please visit the university-wide Commencement website.

Accommodations are available for guests who require special assistance. Academic Regalia (Caps and Gowns)

The University requires regalia (caps and gowns) to participate in the Convocation and Commencement ceremonies. Students may order regalia online through the Herff Jones website. We recommend that you do this at your earliest convenience.  Regalia orders must by placed by April 11th.  When placing your order please select the following options under “degree type”:  for JD students select Doctorate; for LLM students select MastersPlease remember to print your receipt if ordering online. You will be asked to present your receipt at time of pick up.  Rental fees must be paid in full by cash or check, made payable to Herff Jones, when you pick up the apparel.
