Krannert Center and Law Building
The 2011 College of Law Convocation will be held in the Great Hall at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on May 14 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. There is an open house on May 13 and a reception on May 14 following the ceremony.
Parking is available in the Krannert Center garage, in metered spaces on nearby streets, and in permit lots (with the exception of 24-hour rental spaces) during commencement weekend. Please be sure to allow enough time to find parking since there are multiple convocation ceremonies on Saturday.
Reception
Graduates, family, friends, and honored guests are invited to join the College of Law on Saturday, May 14 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Pedersen Pavilion for a reception in honor of the Class of 2011. Please join us for this opportunity to celebrate and connect with faculty, family, and friends following the convocation ceremony. No tickets are required and light refreshments will be served.
Guest Speaker
The Honorable Ann Claire Williams will be this year’s convocation speaker. Judge Williams earned her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School. She has held positions as a Law Clerk, assistant to the US Attorney of Illinois, Deputy Chief of the Criminal Receiving and Appellate Division, Chief of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, and began her first judge position for the US District Court in Northern Illinois from 1985. She held this position until 1999 when she was appointed to her current position; as a judge of the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Open House
Graduates, family members, faculty, and honored guests are invited for a casual dinner (vegetarian options available) in the Pedersen Pavilion at the College of Law, 504 East Pennsylvania Avenue, in Champaign on Friday, May 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. No tickets are required, and the College of Law Bookstore will be open during this time for browsing and last minute gifts.
University-Wide Commencement
Sunday, May 15, 2011, at the Assembly Hall
You may choose to participate in a commencement ceremony with graduate and undergraduate students from various colleges throughout the university. More information about this ceremony, including ticketing and special accommodation for accessibility.
Tickets
Tickets will be required for the Class of 2011 Convocation ceremony. Rest assured that more than enough tickets will be available to accommodate you and your guests. Tickets for the May 2011 convocation ceremony have now been distributed. If you require additional tickets, please stop by the Student Records Office (Room 101) for additional information.
