Meet Our Team
Greg Miarecki, Executive Assistant Dean
Greg is responsible for leading the College’s Career Services Office, including employer outreach, strategic planning, and program design and implementation. A partner at Winston & Strawn LLP focusing on complex civil litigation and white-collar criminal matters, Greg received his B.A. in public policy cum laude from the University of Chicago and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
Jolynn Caroline, Director
Jolynn Caroline joined the College in 2006. She counsels current students and alumni, with a particular focus on students interested in securing federal and state clerkships and students interested in practicing on the West Coast. Jolynn graduated with honors with a B.S. in community health from the University of Illinois. She earned her J.D. from the College of Law, where she served as notes editor for the Law Review. Before joining the College of Law, Jolynn worked as an associate with Holland & Knight and Ungaretti & Harris, practicing in the areas of labor/employment law, product liability, aviation litigation, and construction law.
Rebecca Myhr Szajna, Director
Rebecca Myhr Szajna joined the College in 2011. She counsels current students and alumni, with a particular focus on students interested in public interest and government careers. Rebecca earned her B.S. summa cum laude from Arizona State University, an M.A. in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where she served as the lead articles editor of the Stanford Law and Policy Review. Rebecca is licensed to practice law in Illinois. She has worked as a litigation associate in Chicago, as an assistant defender in the Office of the State Appellate Defender, and as a trial consultant. In addition, Rebecca has worked with practicing lawyers on matters related to professional well-being and is a licensed professional counselor. Rebecca also currently serves as an adjunct professor at the College, teaching a course called “The American Jury.”
Alex Piller, Associate Director
Alexander Piller joined the College in 2014. He counsels current students and alumni, with a particular focus on students interested in practicing in the area of intellectual property. Alex earned his B.S. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review.
Before joining the College of Law, Alex worked as a patent litigator at law firms in New York City and Chicago.
