Job Notification Program
We would be happy to post job opportunities for which students apply directly to your organization or for which we collect the requested application materials and send them to you as one package. To notify us of an opportunity, please click here.
The Office of Career Planning and Professional Development will not post job opportunities or otherwise disseminate employment information to students when a non-lawyer is seeking a law student to do legal research. This policy is to prevent students from being placed in a situation where they could be called upon to engage in activities that could be construed as the unauthorized practice of law.
Non-Discrimination Policy
In accordance with the University of Illinois College of Law’s policies, the Office of Career Planning and Professional Development asks every employer participating in the On-Campus Interview Program and Job Notification Program to affirm its status as an equal opportunity employer, offering employment without unlawful or invidious discrimination or segregation on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, handicap, disability, marital status, or status as a disabled or Vietnam-era veteran.

Juris Doctor Candidates
LL.M. Candidates
Every year since 1952, a varied group of international lawyers has pursued graduate study at the College of Law. Today, the College of Law enrolls between 30 and 35 LL.M. candidates a year. Graduates include students from around the world, representing countries as diverse as Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, China, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan, and Uganda. Students study Anglo-American law in an international context, gaining practical knowledge that is essential in negotiating cross-cultural transactions. The regions of Europe, Asia and Latin America are about equally represented, with the number of students from Africa increasing in recent years. Graduate students have varying backgrounds. Some have recently completed their first law degree, or plan to continue graduate study in their home countries; others are more experienced practitioners or judges; and still others are academics seeking to broaden their teaching of the law. The combination of varied experiences and strong academic credentials contributes to a dynamic and interesting program of graduate study.
