Thomas Warman '03 was part of a team at Figliulo & Silverman that won a successful $41.7 million verdict for client, Flint Hills Resources LLC.

Matthew Bettenausen, J.D. '85, was named in November 2009 as Secretary for the California Emergency Management Agency.

Jacob Frost, J.D. '06, joined Wimbiscus Law Firm, in Spring Valley, IL, in October 2009. Frost practices in the areas of estate/trust administration, residential and commercial real estate purchases and sales, business organizations, governmental law and wills and trusts.

John Baer Receives First Lewis G. Rudnick Award
The ABA Forum on Franchising has awarded John Baer the first annual Lewis G. Rudnick Award, recognizing John's outstanding contributions to the franchise bar and to franchise law as a discipline, all while comporting himself in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism, decency and collegiality. The award honors a "lifetime of achievement" in the area of franchise law and was established in memory of former Forum chair Lew Rudnick, who was one of the leading pioneers in the area of franchise law. John has been involved with the Forum for many years, serving on its governing committee and chairing Forum conferences. He is a frequent speaker at Forum events and recognized by his peers as a distinguished franchise law practitioner. John has also written extensively for publications such as the Franchise Law Journal, as well as many international franchise law publications.
