Katie Chamberlain Kritikos
Katie Chamberlain Kritikos ('09) received one of fifty American Library Association fellowships to attend the World Library and Information Congress of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) in August 2016. The fellowships are funded through a $50,000 Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Program grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

Katie Chamberlain Kritikos ('09) joined the doctoral program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Information Studies in fall 2015 with a distinguished graduate student fellowship. She will research the law, libraries, and policy with a focus on intellectual freedom and intellectual property issues.
Gregg Strauss ('09) is now an associate professor of law at the University of Virginia Law School. Strauss is a family law, jurisprudence and philosophy expert who is offering fresh insight into questions about marriage.
Precious S. Jacobs ('09) received the Alumni Trailblazer Award from the Academic Achievement Program (AAP) at New York University (NYU) on November 1. Precious is an associate at Jenner & Block in Chicago.
Anna Krasinski ('09) is now an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia.
Jessica Bartlett ('09) has been named a 2014 New York Metro Rising Star by Super Lawyers. Bartlett is an associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer US LLP in New York.
Angel Wawrzynek ('09) was recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Association in the association’s annual Top 100 list. She is an attorney at Tapella & Eberspacher in Illinois and Missouri.

Tegan Lordahl (Machnich) (Class of 2009) left corporate litigation to become a public defender with the Clark County Public Defender in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Prairie State Legal Services, a non-profit law firm that provides free civil legal services to low-income persons and seniors, is pleased to announce that Ellen Samuel has joined the Rockford Law Office as a Staff Attorney. Ellen joins the Rockford Law Office of Prairie State as a Staff Attorney. She received her J.D. from the University of Illinois and attended the University of Iowa where she received her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish. Ellen was a participant in the University of Illinois Public Interest Law Fellows Program; a College of Law initiative to create opportunities for recent graduates to work for one year on behalf of the indigent and underserved. After the fellowship had ended, she applied for an open staff attorney position and was chosen. As a staff attorney, Ellen focuses on Housing Law in Boone, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson, & Winnebago Counties and was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2009.
Prairie State Legal Services, a non-profit law firm that provides free civil legal services to low-income persons and seniors, is pleased to announce that Tristan Bullington has joined the Bloomington Law Office as a Staff Attorney. Tristan started at Prairie State in August of 2009 through a fellowship program with the University of Illinois. The fellowship is a College of Law initiative to create opportunities for recent graduates to work for one year on behalf of the indigent and underserved. He received a B.A. in Philosophy from Washington State University in 2006 and his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2009. Tristan now works as a staff attorney in the Bloomington Office and focuses mostly on housing law. He also handles the Lawyer Intake Courtroom Project where he sets up at the courthouse for the eviction docket call. Prior to Prairie State, Tristan interned at the Washington Appellate Project in 2007 and for the Snohomish County Public Defender Association in 2008. He is admitted to the Washington State bar and will receive his 717 license for Illinois in 2010.

Eric joined Prairie State after receiving his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law. Eric began working in Prairie State's Waukegan Office as a University of Illinois Fellow, a College of Law initiative to create opportunities for recent graduates to work for one year on behalf of the indigent and underserved. He now works in Carol Stream as a staff attorney and focuses on social security cases and manages a foreclosure grant. Eric has also been an active participant in the process of formulating the Illinois Utility Percentage of Income Payment Plan. Eric gained admission to the Illinois bar in 2009 and graduated from Brandei University in 2004 with a B.A.S. in History.
